The location is great, only a 5-10 minute walk from the Arena, and the owner was super nice. The room had a lovely feel and interior design, and even the closet smelled good. That orange shower gel was amazing. The shared bathroom was clean and very nice, the Wi-Fi was strong, and the bed and pillows were high quality and really comfortable. Breakfast was all right, with bread, some salami, cube cheese and sweets. Since we’re in Italy, I understand the sweet options, but I’d have liked a little more of a continental breakfast. Still, compared with other places I’ve stayed, it was actually great. A really nice experience, and I’d recommend it.

The shared bathroom is the main drawback. The B&B is an apartment converted into three bedrooms on the second floor, so all three rooms share one bathroom. We had an 8am train, but when we got up, someone from another room was using it. It’s not ideal, though I knew it was shared when I booked and still give the stay five stars. It’s probably best for a night or two, which is all you need in Verona. We stayed one night. The room and bathroom were very clean, check-in was easy, and the host was super nice. There was a small breakfast included, and the location was great, about a 15-minute walk to the center.

Everything on the website matched what we found. I liked the thoughtful host and the generous breakfast, and the breakfast area stayed open so we could get cold water from the fridge. The place also has an eco-friendly approach, with LED lights and no plastic glasses, plates or cutlery. I’ll come back on my next stop in Verona.

The room was boiling hot, and there was no way to turn off the heating. I contacted the host, who kept saying he was on his way or that I should open the window. The street was noisy enough to keep me awake. When he finally came, he dealt with it in a very unfriendly way. I felt like I’d interrupted his plans and was just bothering him. I’d told him my arrival time in advance, but he wasn’t there when I arrived during normal check-in hours. Afterward, I left an honest review on the booking site, something around three or four stars, I guess. The host then emailed to say I wasn’t welcome at his B&B anymore. I stayed there a while ago, and now that I’m back in Italy, this place has come up again. Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t good. A good host should put guests’ comfort first, but this one didn’t seem to understand that.
