You’ll need to carry your luggage up to the third floor, but the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and there’s air conditioning. Breakfast was good, with croissants, yogurt, and decent coffee from the capsule machine. Nearby bus stops get you to the city centre or train station in 7-10 minutes for 2 euros. Walking takes 25-30 minutes.

I called to reserve two rooms and agreed to email the next day to confirm the price. Before I had a chance to send it, the owner called to say the rooms weren’t reserved and had been booked online. When I asked why, he said it was because he hadn’t received my email immediately, and that he wasn’t obliged to tell us we could book directly on the website. He knew we were in Verona because of health problems. After looking for other accommodation, I started to suspect he hadn’t held the rooms because Fieracavalli, the horse fair, was happening at the same time and someone else might pay him more for them. The owner is dishonest.
