Everything was fine for a night or two.

We ended up not staying the night because we weren't offered another room or any workable fix. The room smelled musty as soon as we went in, and turning on the air conditioning showed mold inside the unit. I felt the room was unhealthy to stay in. We couldn't reach the host through Booking, email, or phone, and Booking customer service couldn't reach him either. After about an hour and a half, he called back, but kept hanging up when I mentioned the mold. In the app he told us to use a “Cleaning program” on the air conditioning, which wouldn't address the mold. He also refused to agree to compensation, so we had to find somewhere else. Don't stay here unless mold is your thing, or you want to scramble to find another place.

We used this as a base for seeing central Verona, about nine minutes away by car, and the Valpolicella region. Parking in the building was free and convenient, and the directions to the apartment were clear and easy to follow. The room was spotless and tidy, with its own bathroom. You can make coffee and tea in the shared area. Highly recommended.

There's mold in at least one room, and the smell is constant and impossible to get rid of. That's extremely bad for your health.
