Residence Villa Mainard

Be careful if you have to cancel your trip. We told them two weeks ahead that our whole trip was off, but they refused to refund us. We didn't even use a single bar of soap there, so how can they keep all our money? I could understand them charging for the first night, like most hotels do, but our booking was for five nights and they kept the payment for the whole stay. Is this how they make money? It feels like a scam.

The apartment was really clean and well furnished for a family. It's also near the city center. A great holiday place, and I'm definitely coming back.

What a spot! The location deserves five stars and then some.

Our two-room apartment had bright, spacious rooms and tasteful furnishings. The kitchen and living area came with a sofa bed, microwave, kettle, TV, and what we needed for cooking, plus there was a double bedroom and bathroom. It was in a lovely 1930s villa about 3 km from Verona's historic center, with a garden outside and free parking. You can drive or take public transport into the center. The bus stop is right outside, and the night bus stops nearby and takes about half an hour. We took a taxi once, which cost €15 including the night fare. There are plenty of useful places close by, including pizzerias, restaurants, a pharmacy, a deli, and a herbalist. I recommend breakfast at Dolceamaro, the croissants are excellent, and Bar Buseto is a charming spot for a quick bite or aperitif, with a very friendly owner. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing, and the staff were kind and discreet. The one downside was no Wi-Fi, though we were out most of the time and didn't really miss it. With a kettle provided, it would've been nice to have a few more tea bags, herbal teas, and chamomile tea, but those are minor points.
