Truly Verona

We had a bad experience with Truly Verona and wouldn’t recommend it. After we booked through booking.com and sent the requested information, they sent a payment link that didn’t work for us. We asked about other ways to pay, through booking.com, by bank transfer, on arrival, or the next morning, but they wouldn’t accommodate us. They also asked us to share our card number, expiration date, and CVC, which we obviously weren’t comfortable giving.

The apartment is only about a five-minute walk from the arena, and it’s a convenient place to stay. It’s a historic apartment that’s been fully updated, with fairly new amenities that all worked well. The reception office is about 100 metres down the street, a few doors to the left, and that was convenient too. The reception team were very nice, helpful, and easy to talk to. Ask them where to eat locally: they pointed us to an excellent restaurant, Il Bersagliere. A very nice stay, thoroughly recommended.

We stayed for three nights around March and April, and the apartment made an ideal base. It’s central and easy to get everywhere on foot. Ours was spacious and had everything we needed, plus balconies looking over the arena that were lovely in the morning sun. The office staff were very friendly and helpful, and check-in was easy as long as you follow the instructions. There was often a drain smell in the bathroom, though I know that’s common in many old European apartment buildings. Also, the apartments are beside a Cuban bar that plays music into the early hours. It didn’t bother us, but it could be a problem if you go to bed early or are sensitive to noise.

Sofia at reception was incredibly helpful and kind, and gave us great tips for our time in Verona. The apartment was beautiful, clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. I loved the mix of historic character and modern touches. Highly recommend!
