DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. The room was filthy, with scuffs and wear on the walls and floor, and the AC wasn’t working when we arrived. The receptionist said, “Italy is hot, what do you want me to do?” When I returned an hour later with more photos showing the thermostat still wasn’t working, she asked what I expected her to do that late at night. I asked for another room, but she said there wasn’t one. I wasn’t going to make my wife sleep in a hot room, and she argued with me, throwing her arms up. I told her I was tired and hot and would go to dinner for an hour or so while she tried to sort something out. During dinner, we watched a repairman walk past us; he came back with a dirty, full AC filter. The room cooled down two hours later. The place wasn’t what it seemed from the listing. The office was in a Best Western Labeled Hotel Lobby, but the room was around the corner, on the second floor of a building you have to buzz into yourself. The receptionist was kind at first, until she realized she’d checked us in an hour early. I said that was fine and we’d go eat, then come back an hour later, but she demanded the key card back even after I explained. It felt like we were being treated as if we’d done something wrong. Nobody showed us to the room, the hallway was dark, and the directions weren’t easy to follow in any language.
