Gio Toscana captured a piece of my heart. We spent Easter there as a family and had a wonderful time. It’s a working ranch as well as a peaceful countryside retreat, with a real love for the animals and the land. Gio organizes horseback trails through the Tuscan landscape, and his care for the animals is moving. The four dogs, 12 horses, miniature horse Matilda, and even a baby donkey all seemed cherished. The place feels authentic and alive while still being refined. Its location in the rolling Tuscan hills is tranquil and breathtaking, about 20 minutes from Castiglione della Pescaia and half an hour from Grosseto. There’s understated luxury throughout, with lovely interiors and immaculate grounds. The owner’s care and attention to detail show in every corner, it’s clear the place was made thoughtfully and with love. I rarely write reviews, but I couldn’t keep this experience to myself. I can’t wait to return to Gio Toscana.

The food was a highlight for us. Each meal felt like a celebration of Tuscan flavors, made with fresh local ingredients, and we went home a few pounds heavier. Our apartment was cozy and charming, thoughtfully decorated, and a lovely place to unwind. I only wish the dogs and cats could have stayed overnight with us. We had an unforgettable time at this beautiful ranch in Tuscany. Gio welcomed us so warmly that we felt at home straight away, and the kindness and care from everyone made our stay special. The horses were gentle, well trained, and suited to riders of any level. Riding the scenic trails was a dream, and our last day’s ride with Patrick was the coolest. Gio, Patrick, Ariane, Greta, and the amazing chef gave us the warmest experience we could have hoped for. I highly recommend it for the horses, food, beauty of Tuscany, and heartfelt welcome. We’ll come back!

The owners helped shape our stay around our comfort and preferences, and the result was a memorable weekend in a different side of Tuscany from classic Chianti. From making the reservation through the welcome at Gio Toscana and Gio Ranch, my girlfriend and I felt like more than guests. Our room looked out over an idyllic valley, with a superb panorama in the morning. Inside, the design was a visual delight, full of careful details and luxurious amenities. Congratulations to the owners for creating such a wonderful experience.

We stayed at Gio Toscana in early September. The rooms were clean and nice, but the pool was old and dirty. There were lots of dogs, almost like a kennel. The location was definitely off the beaten path. The owner was arrogant and very difficult to deal with. While we were there, they couldn't provide any of the listed add-on services because he was away. Friends who stayed elsewhere in the area had a much better experience. I wouldn't recommend this place.
