The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast included apples, eggs, cheeses, a range of cereals, tea, and coffee. Our room had three single beds and a shared bathroom, with the basics we needed, including a TV. It’s outside Spezia, which suited us fine. You get to see an area with few or no tourists, somewhere many visitors might miss. If my family comes back to the region, we’ll definitely stay here again.

The rooms are clean and it’s not very expensive, but the hotel was noisy and not very nice. You could hear the toilet and people in the other rooms, and the cleaning staff switched on the light in the morning whether you were asleep or not. For just 10 bucks more, you could get somewhere much better.

The room was spacious and very clean. There’s no elevator or air conditioning, though there was a fan, and there weren’t many power outlets. We arrived very late and left early, so we didn’t speak with anyone, but the attentive staff left clear directions to help us find the room. Breakfast wasn’t included, but they did have free coffee, tea, small cakes, and toast with jelly.

The staff were gracious and very helpful that morning. They refunded all three nights and let us use the facilities to clean our luggage. They also said they’d arrange to replace the mattresses and fumigate the room. I appreciate their help and the refund, and I’ll refrain from posting photos. We found bedbugs in the room. I lost sleep the first night, then had to scramble the next day to do laundry and find somewhere else to stay. The mattresses and bedcovers showed obvious signs of infestation, which I think routine housekeeping could have caught earlier. In response to the owner’s comment: The bites and effects I experienced after spending several hours in that bed hadn’t happened during the previous few days of lodging and travel. We arrived earlier that afternoon, and I doubt that was enough time for the exoskeletons and marks on the mattress to appear, along with the dozen or so bugs we quickly found near the beds.
