À La Maison De Gabry

We were in town for one night while our campervan was being repaired. The room was very clean and had air conditioning. Sarah and her family went out of their way to help with the vehicle. Grazie mille!

The place looks nice, and it has potential, but the details need more attention. There was only one face towel and one hand towel in our double room, and just one of the other amenities too. The sink filled right up, and the pillows weren’t great. There were two, luckily, but the mattress was hammock-shaped and sat two tiers high, which left my neck hurting. I couldn’t sleep at all. A few fixes would make a difference, because the place is worth it.

I arranged a group stay, and the owner kept me informed about every guest’s check-in. He handled it very professionally. He’s also genuinely friendly, helpful, and kind. The rooms are large and comfortable, with roomy showers and balconies, and everything was very clean. Breakfast is served at the bar and ice cream shop on the seafront. The location is central, with a supermarket, pharmacy, snack bars, cafés, and ice cream shops close by. Though it’s described as a B&B, the standards felt like a hotel, while the prices stayed very affordable. A heartfelt thanks to Orazio.

We had to delay our trip, which was originally planned for the week of August 15th, because something unexpected came up. Orazio, the lovely owner, kept our deposit intact and was patient and understanding about it. The suite was beautiful, in a distinctive building, with spacious rooms and an especially big bathroom. It had air conditioning, a TV, a washing machine, and two drying racks. The terrace was lovely too. Housekeeping was impeccable, with fresh towels and linens every day, and the welcome kit topped up whenever needed. The staff were warm and attentive, and even hung our laundry out to dry. Breakfast was excellent, with a special offer at the Frozen ice cream shop, a restaurant with sea views, and wonderful staff. Prices felt completely fair. The only little drawback was no refrigerator, but the hospitality made that easy to work around. A short but magnificent stay, highly recommended!
