Hotel Mary

We moved here a few weeks ago and have been really happy with it. We’re a family of four with a big dog, and this time we chose this place after staying at ederle Inn on our first visit, which was handy then. Having a full kitchen has made it easy to cook, and there’s a little grocery store with most things we need less than a five-minute walk away, along with plenty of good places to eat. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. We’d definitely come back.

Bus 1 stops right outside Hotel Mary and takes you into the center of Vicenza for 3 euros, with the return trip covered too. Get off at the second stop over the river, turn left, and you’ll reach the Basilica Palladia. The hotel is also just a five-minute walk from the pedestrian gate at Caserma Ederle. We arrived close to midnight and the front desk was helpful. Our room was small but had what we needed, including a good hot shower and a cute view of the church bell tower. As English speakers with very little Italian, we found communication easy. We stayed three days and would recommend it, especially if you’re using Caserma Ederle.

The shower was clogged and the water barely flowed, and the bathroom door wouldn’t lock from the inside. There was no kettle or iron in the room, and even the blanket wasn’t up to standard. We stayed one night as part of a tour, and I don’t think this place deserves its claimed three-star rating. It felt more like a lodge.

Housekeeping is on another level, and the place is very clean. The staff are incredible and accommodating, and the amenities are great for the price. It’s very close to Ederle. I highly recommend it.
