Masseria Le Macine

Mario was wonderful, and even brought us fresh fruit from his trees.

There were eight of us, staying in two neighboring villas, and Masseria Le Macine worked really well for a group. We could spend time together by the pool, at the sea, or around a cozy fire among the olive trees. Kids have lots of room to play in the garden, while everyone else can relax in the shade of a centuries-old oak or try the billiards, darts, table football, ping pong, and other activities. The place is surrounded by greenery, and Mario is the sweetest host, kind and always ready to help. He looks after his guests with thoughtful little gestures. Highly recommended, and a stay here is an experience to remember.

The pool is generous for the number of guests, with a hydromassage section, umbrellas, and loungers for each apartment. The sea is only a few hundred meters away, easy to reach by the provided bicycles, on foot, or by car. There's also discounted access to beach umbrellas and loungers. One morning we found figs left on a fig leaf on our outdoor table. They were delicious. We stayed August 9th to 16th, 2025, and it was a lucky find. The host welcomed us before check-in and showed us through a grove of centuries-old olive trees, explaining everything and answering our questions about local restaurants and supplies. Our apartment was clean and carefully kept, with a large fridge, a roomy indoor shower, and an outdoor one too. Outside we had a table, chairs, loungers, drying rack, and private barbecue, plus bicycles for our apartment's exclusive use. The shared spaces are lovely, with shaded seating and hammocks under a centuries-old oak, plus spots to relax, read, play billiards, ping pong, bocce, volleyball, and more. There are fig, walnut, pear, peach, and plum trees, among others. It's a beautiful place for a relaxing, fun holiday, and kids can move around safely inside the property. A wonderful vacation in the heart of the Gargano, and we'd happily come back.

The quiet and sense of well-being started as soon as we arrived at that gray gate. You're surrounded by nature, and you can sit in the garden in the evening, enjoy the breeze, and listen to the cicadas. Mario and Doretta put real care into all the details, and they made us feel at home. They're fantastic people who love what they do. Masserie le Macine will stay in our hearts. There are a few things that could be better, like the cleaning and having the supplies needed to clean. It would also be nice to have a couple of glasses to enjoy a good glass of wine in the garden.
