Breakfast and dinner use food from the estate and are served in the 17th-century kitchen. It has an amazing atmosphere and made us feel as if we’d gone back to the Middle Ages. The staff are super nice, welcoming, and always ready to help. The estate is at the top of a mountain and has been the same family’s retreat for more than 200 years. The family takes turns hosting guests, and you can join a small tour where they share their history. There are beautiful historical objects all around, so you get a sense of stepping back in time while still having all the comforts of today.

We held our wedding ceremony in the side garden, looking out toward sorrento. The place is naturally beautiful, and the service was great. I’d happily recommend it.

The grounds and wedding day food were exquisite, with an incredible amount of care in the details. Several guests told us it was the best food they’d had at a wedding. We’d stayed there for four nights beforehand, and host Giovanna Rispoli was wonderfully accommodating, even with family meals and last-minute visitors. Our wedding here was fabulous. If you’re thinking of booking it for yours, I can’t recommend it enough.

Ask the owner to show you around the property. The tour includes different parts of the building and a small 'museum' of interesting objects from her ancestors' everyday lives. This 500-year-old former monastery has remarkable architecture, and some original features are still carefully kept and in use. The rooms are spacious and have what you need to make a quick lunch. Definitely worth a visit and a stay.

We saw the sunset over the bay of Naples with Vesuvio in the background every evening for all 10 days. The views are wonderful. Our host Ermine and the staff were so kind, and the cooks really spoiled us with breakfast each morning and some lovely local meals in the 17th-century kitchen. We had a wonderful stay at Masseria Astapiana Villa Giusso and will surely come back.
