B&B Macchiaria

The hosts were a welcoming, kind, and helpful couple, and we felt at home the whole time. It was hard to leave after such a lovely stay. La Macchiaria has a peaceful feel, relaxing nature all around, clean rooms, a great breakfast, and beautiful views, even though it’s only a short distance from the sea. Those positive reviews we saw before booking were well deserved. Highly recommended, we’ll be back.

Antonella and Salvo are lovely, always happy to chat and suggest things to see or do nearby. We stayed at their B&B in Vieste with their son Saverio, and had a truly wonderful time. The grounds are spacious and surrounded by beautiful centuries-old olive trees, which make it especially peaceful. One of the cats had three kittens during our stay, and spending time with them was a real pleasure. The location is a short distance from the sea. Breakfast was excellent, varied, and plentiful every morning. Our room was impeccably clean, the beds were always made, and the towels changed often. The shared terrace has clotheslines for drying swimsuits and towels after the beach, which is very handy. I highly recommend it, especially for the owners’ kindness and hospitality.

There’s lots of room to spread out, plus parking under the olive trees. The place was clean and dry, with a terrace, loungers, and a lovely view. Breakfast is generous, and the fresh fruit in the morning was a nice touch. You get used to the cicadas in the background pretty quickly.

We spent four nights at the Macchiaria farm and felt completely at home thanks to Sante and Antonella’s warm, friendly welcome. The olive grove surrounds the property, about a ten-minute drive from Vieste. Our room had everything essential and was spotless. Breakfast was generous and varied, especially the tart and apple pie Antonella made. And do try the black mulberry jam, it’s delicious.
