The terrace view is sublime, and breakfast was generous with plenty of variety. The building is a medieval palazzo at the entrance to the centro storico, with beautiful bones, though it would take a deep purse to restore it to its former glory. Different sections seem to come from different eras, and my room looked as if its last update was around the 1960s. There are lots of steep stairs, and the extra narrow flight to my room was especially awkward. I’m no gazelle. The room was comfortable, but opening all the windows to let in the Adriatic breeze didn’t clear the smell of squashed ants. I suspect it came from mouldy ceiling or floorboards. That can’t be easy to fix, but it doesn’t seem healthy.

We had a lovely stay in this traditional building, with a beautiful view of the sea. The family running the hotel were kind and helped us with some very specific questions. They also have an organic olive plantation, which we got to visit. We bought plenty of delicious olive oil there, a nice gift for friends and family. We’d definitely come back.

The hotel’s architecture is beautiful, and it’s right in the center of Vieste. Our room was comfortable and had a nice view, and we had good communication with the host. Parking was convenient, about 300 meters away.

Be careful about paying the bill by international bank transfer. The owners wouldn’t cover the related charges, so all the fees fell to us. After a four-night stay, that was very disappointing. There was no room for discussion, and the owners threatened prosecution, even though we fully agreed to pay the full price given at booking, plus local taxes.

The views are great, the location works well, and the rooms are nice, with some having balconies and a view. Breakfast was good, with tables looking out over the harbor. We parked at the port, about a five-minute walk away, and paid 7 euros for overnight parking.
