Palazzo Suriano Amalfi Coast

The Palazzo and its gardens are beautiful, and the staff made us feel very welcome. It’s wonderfully tucked away with an incredible view, while still being convenient for both the marina and Vietri town. A lovely hidden gem on the Amalfi.

It’s always a pleasure to stay at Carlos Hotel. Breakfast is generous and really good, and the view over Vietri from the breakfast terrace is spectacular.

We’d happily come back in a heartbeat. The place felt like a home away from home, and it was our favorite accommodation across three weeks in Italy, including the first few days of our trip. The host was communicative and went out of their way to accommodate us, and the staff were a treat. Taking the cooking course with resident chef Virginia was another great choice.

The gardens at Palazzo Suriano are gorgeous, with plenty of peaceful corners where you can sit and enjoy the sea view. The building has real charm and is beautifully decorated, just what you’d hope for in a Heritage Hotel. I also loved the well stocked library and the delicious breakfast. Virginia, the chef, is warm hearted and generous. Our Superior room with balcony was spacious and comfortable. As an American, I’d just be ready for a firmer mattress than you might be used to, though that’s true across Italy. Roberto helped when we arrived, showing us the entrance and how to park. The road down to the parking is quite steep, and he offered to drive my car back up when we wanted to explore the coastal road. Our hosts were generous and helpful, the views were stunning, and the location was ideal. Vietri sul Mare sits just south of Salerno and has its own beach and port. On our first evening, the hosts made a dinner reservation for us at a restaurant up the hill, where we had wonderful seafood. A small road in front of the hotel gave us quick access to the beach and seaside restaurants. It’s Amalfi, so bring walking shoes. Every part of the stay felt like a dream, and I can’t wait to return!
