Hotel Il Dollaro

The family is really nice, and the hotel is good value. It could do with a few upgrades, though.

We were made to feel genuinely welcome, especially when our car's hybrid system broke down on the morning we were leaving. The father-and-son team arranged a tow truck and drove us to a nearby repair shop. They took care of us when we were in a desperate spot, and their help saved us a lot of money. We're so grateful for their support and hospitality, and we'll come back. We'd stayed one night at Hotel Dollaro during our visit to Villa San Giovanni. It's just steps from the ferry docks and train station, and the value was excellent. The rooms were spotless, and breakfast, with brioche, coffee, and juice, was just right.

The view across to Sicily is wonderful, and the towels were fresh and white every day. The hotel was spotless. Sleep quality felt like four stars to me, so I'd give it five points, even though the place feels more like a three-star hotel. It's inexpensive, and the owners are very loyal. When my car broke down, they helped a lot with the repair. They're open to questions and always available to answer or help. Is there air conditioning in the rooms? Is breakfast included?

A really warm welcome from the owners, who run Hotel Il Dollaro as a genuine family business. I stayed one night with my dog and would highly recommend it if you're catching the ferry to Sicily. They're always on hand to help, whether with breakfast, ferry tickets, or restaurant suggestions. Bravo!
