The only thing I missed was an oven in the kitchen for warming up ready-made meals. The Sonnenblume apartment was comfortable, warm and welcoming, with distinctive wood paneling throughout almost all of it. It worked well for three people and was very functional. You get the best of both settings here: pastures and a striking forest all around, yet the town's main square is only 650 meters away. The property has a lot of potential and a variety of services, so I can still recommend it. We did find the owner rather cold and withdrawn, perhaps because she was going through a difficult time. When we paid, she didn't ask how we'd found the apartment or even say a polite word to my 8-year-old daughter.

The apartment was spotless and lovingly decorated, with a fantastic mountain view. The family were kind and helpful, and each day they offered farm produce and tips for hikes and excursions nearby. We had a wonderful, relaxing time at the Stifterhof, would happily return, and can definitely recommend the farm.
