It takes a little effort to get there, but the peaceful setting and valley views make it worthwhile. Breakfast is decent by Italian standards, and there’s a pool for summer. This suits people and families who’d rather enjoy the landscape and nature than cram five big cities and a beach into one day. Plenty of places, like Sirmione, Verona, Vicenza, Padova, Chioggia, Ferrara, or even Bologna, are within about 1.5-2 hours. Enjoy the scenery, with an outing here and there 😎

The rustic accommodation might look small, but it has the comforts you need, and I was very happy with both the place and the hospitality. The owner is a kind, welcoming, and helpful woman. There’s a spectacular view, too. They make excellent wine and good olive oil here, so I recommend stopping by.

We were a family of four in November, staying in a self-catering apartment at Le Mandolare. It was clean, modern, and had everything we needed. The owner was discreet but knowledgeable, and gave us advice and information for tours. We visited Padua, Vicenza, and Verona, along with smaller towns such as Este, Monselice, and Montagnana, then came back to the lovely hillside setting. The farm makes olive oil and wine, and it reminded us a little of Liguria. We didn’t get to use the pool or explore the beautiful hills, even though the pool was available, which was a shame. Since it’s up in the hills, you’ll need your own transport.

The trails start on the hill slopes around the property, with varied terrain, plants, and lovely panoramic views to discover on foot. There’s plenty of culture nearby too, from Vicenza and Verona to villas, sanctuaries, castles, and old roads scattered through the countryside. I spent 10 days here with my mother, and it was a wonderful mix of nature and culture. The farm owner knows the area well and was always ready with suggestions for places to see. After a day out, relaxing by the pool in the quiet and comfort of this agriturismo was just right.

Ms. Lidia gave us such helpful tips about places to visit, along with warm hospitality that really shouldn’t be taken for granted. Gabriella and Enrico welcomed us so warmly that we felt pampered, and more at home than like guests. We spent three lovely days surrounded by nature in a very welcoming, spotless place, just how we like it. We’re already hoping to come back soon! Isa & Carlo Viganò
