A terrible stay. There was a bin at the room entrance, presumably for general waste, and it smelled awful. We had left pastries we’d bought on the table, but they were gone in the morning. The shower only had cold water, and there was dust and wool near the TVs. We booked for five people and were put in an attic with three single beds and a double, all in one room, without knowing that was what we’d get. The photos looked completely different. The listing said sea view, but we didn’t see one. Check the pictures carefully: the first ones look beautiful, so scroll down to 178 to see the reality. What an awful experience!

The owner was nowhere to be seen and seemed interested only in getting paid. The price was far too high for this type of accommodation and its location, which is farther from the sea than the more than 7 km listed on Booking.com. Breakfast was a disgrace: one pod coffee and a bowl of packaged snacks. It was so bad you wouldn’t even expect it at home. I only gave one star because the Publish button needs it. This place doesn’t deserve even that. ABSOLUTELY AVOID!!!

Villalfonsina is a nearly forgotten village in the hills of Vasto. We came here with a group of 12, three families and six children, to break up a long vacation, and the value for money looked excellent. Giuliano is a wonderful host. He went out of his way to make us comfortable and even suggested things to visit that afternoon.

We had to stay one night because our car broke down. It cost €190, with a shared bathroom and a breakfast that’s best left unmentioned. The owner was kind and courteous, the only positive thing. I’d like to see what he’s asking for, and on top of that, there wasn’t a shred of a receipt!

There was everything we needed, and the place was very spacious. I’d update the decor and get rid of the three fish tanks, which take up room and are dirty. It’s up in the mountains, very far from the sea, but it works well for people coming to the area who want a longer stay.
