B&B MeriGio'

Those homemade croissants at breakfast were divine. B&B Marigiò is run by a lovely family, and the hosts were always kind and ready to help us feel at home. Our room was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. It’s a peaceful spot just steps from the sea and the amenities of Villapiana Lido, which made for a relaxing break. We can’t wait to return and would recommend it to anyone visiting Calabria.

If you arrive without expectations for hygiene or quality, you might be fine here. The glowing reviews didn’t match what I found: this is a very basic, shoddy family-run B&B. One star feels generous, and a stay here will make that clear.

Four days before my wedding, the manager called to say, sounding disappointed, that he had rented out the rooms I’d booked. I had reserved the B&B two months earlier to host two couples of friends. He suggested another B&B, but that still left me stranded. I wouldn’t call this reliable.

The breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. We spent a few days at this well-kept, welcoming B&B, where the owners were hospitable and very helpful. I’d definitely recommend it.
