Other guests also came in visibly unhappy and told the staff how disappointed they were. Our own experience was awful. My friend had gone into the water to rescue his phone, but they wouldn't let him inside to shower or change. Then, although we'd paid for a double room, they refused to check in the second person and gave no reason beyond the owner not being pleased. The owner showed up asking who was causing trouble, even though we were only trying to have our rights as guests respected. I've rarely seen a team this incompetent. Bad people running the place, stay away.

A clean, welcoming family-run hotel and good value for the price. It was a pleasant place to spend the night. Breakfast could be better.

The meals at the restaurant are good, and the rooms and shared spaces are clean. Breakfast has plenty of sweet options, though the savory selection is limited, and a second coffee costs extra. Staff are helpful, but don't always pay close attention to what guests need. It's a fairly large property that could feel more comfortable with a little effort and a few extra details.

The owner told us the story behind the restaurant's name: her grandfather was a trout fisherman and the father of 21 children, and the family named it in his honor. We had dinner at "Il Pescatore" Hotel and Restaurant in Villetta Barrea (AQ) on October 25, 2025, during our visit to the heart of the Abruzzo National Park with San Nicolò Excursions Group – Sugar Viaggi. The Abruzzo food was full of authentic flavor and carefully prepared, and the warm setting made the meal even better. The staff were attentive and ready to help with anything, and made us feel at home. It's a lovely memory from our travels. Heartfelt thanks to all the "Il Pescatore" staff!

We've always enjoyed coming back here. The restaurant is a real pleasure too, with traditional dishes given clever, modern touches that are both imaginative and delicious. The hotel has a sweet, family-friendly feel, and the rooms are comfortable, clean, and airy, with small balconies. The bathrooms are ensuite and there's endless comfort.
