Chalet Monte Nebius

The staff are great, and the value for money is great too.

Friendly staff at this chalet, where the rooms are quiet and comfortable. It sits at a crossing point for Colle Maddalena pass, with a café nearby that also sells sandwiches, and a gas station.

I’m sorry, but I wasn’t satisfied at all. The bathroom was so dirty, especially the shower stall, corners, and profiles, which looked like they probably hadn’t been cleaned, that I gave up on showering. I also skipped breakfast because there was so much dust flying between the tables. The girls were very kind, but that isn’t enough. Hygiene is needed.

We stayed a few days ago, and a lot of things need updating. There was no soundproofing in the room. The neighbors’ bathroom was right behind our headboard, which felt embarrassing. The room was small but fine for what we needed, clean enough, though it had no wall hangers or even a chair in the double room. The bed was okay, but the very hard pillows gave me a headache. Our bathroom was small but clean, with a French window and balcony. We had soap and shower gel in refillable bottles, which is great for using less plastic, and six crisp white towels. The shower was a shame: small and uncomfortable, with only a wall-mounted showerhead and no hand shower. The plastic enclosure was black with mold, so you couldn’t see through it, and it didn’t match the rest of the room, which seemed clean. Our room faced the street and was noisy, so we had to keep everything closed. The reservation went well, and the owner was completely unfussy, very helpful, and sorted the situation out simply and effectively. Breakfast was included and served in the busy bar across the street. It was a bit crowded, and mostly industrial food, including the gluten-free options, but you could order something hot from the bar, like coffee, cappuccino, tea, or milk. The young lady on duty was a real professional, friendly and cheerful. All in all, fine for a short stay. We didn’t mind the main door having an entry code or there being no staff on site.
