Hotel Garnì Alta Valle

The rooms are spacious, modern, and spotless, and the location is perfect. Marco and his sister have put so much care into the place, which has been fully renovated and feels brand new. Everyone was kind and welcoming. The pizzeria is a real highlight too. Marco clearly knows his craft as a pizzaiolo, and the pizzas are on another level. I can't recommend staying here enough.

The rooms were really clean, and breakfast was super good. We only stayed a couple of nights, but the staff were the nicest and most helpful I've ever met. They made the whole stay perfect. I can't wait to come back ❤️

I was glad I could extend my second visit to Garni Alta Valle from one night to two. Silvia and her team are fantastic and go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. Some of them even seemed to remember my short stay a year earlier, perhaps because I'm a Brit with passable Italian. The rooms and shared spaces are still as fresh and spotless as they were last year. I recommend a room facing away from the road for the valley views toward Temù, though the windows block sound exceptionally well. On one evening, music was playing outside around 23:45, but shutting the window made it completely quiet. I also loved the huge, high-resolution Alpine wildlife photos above the beds. The room I had this time featured a bear, while I think last year's had a marmot. The pizzeria wasn't open on my first visit, so its addition is very welcome. There's a nice selection of well-made pizzas, and I had the 4 formaggi. The bar has Franziskaner weizen, Stella, and Leffe red on tap. Breakfast is still very good, with plenty of choice even for late risers. The hotel is right by a stop on the Edolo-Ponte di Legno bus route. In summer, several buses a day have bike trailers. Edolo is reachable by train from Brescia, though at the moment a replacement bus runs from Cedegolo because of weather damage from about a year ago. You can also get there by bus from Bergamo airport, which at least one budget airline calls “Milan.” The Oglio cycleway runs from Ponte di Legno to Edolo, with routes continuing south, and access from the hotel is pretty good. I didn't have a bike, but used it to walk to Temù and avoid the narrow, busy SS42. For anyone exploring Alta Valle Camonica on foot or by bike, I'd happily recommend the Garni. I speak some Italian, and I know a few staff speak English. Several are from TAA, so there are likely German speakers too.

Silvia runs the hotel, and Margherita looked after me for most of my motorcycle trip, covering the late and early shifts. The room was impressively spotless, the beer on tap was good, and breakfast was freshly made and tasty. The pizzeria was closed while I was there. They offered to make me a sandwich, but I declined because I didn't want to be a bother. I chose Hotel Garni Alta Valle for its convenient location and the photos of the modern rooms, reception, and dining area. I'd recommend staying here in this beautiful valley and hope I can visit again. One note, the outside doesn't look like it does in Street View. Hopefully that gets updated soon.
