We booked directly through the hotel and got an email saying the slides would be free, but still had to pay because we weren’t given the voucher we needed. The kids’ menu was disappointing too. The Bolognese came with barely a spoonful of sauce; we asked for more and got it, but otherwise it would have been mostly plain pasta with a little color. The nuggets and croquettes were burnt and inedible. Such a shame.

Dinner was a treat. I chose the 'Surprise Menu' and was only asked what I definitely wouldn’t eat, so the dishes after that were a surprise. It really delivered. Breakfast was delicious too, with fresh fruit and local eggs. The family-run feel showed in the details, and our large room was spotless, with a sofa that could fit two kids. We were a little outside Sterzing, up in the mountains with a lovely view. The next morning we stepped outside to snow on the peaks. There was also a small sauna area, a welcome bonus after a long drive.

The room may feel a bit chilly for some people. We were there in mid-September, and it wasn’t heated. The wooden staircase squeaked too. Still, the hotel had a great atmosphere, with helpful staff, good food and Tirol music in the restaurant. There were nice areas for kids, enough parking, and good anti-Covid measures at both the hotel and restaurant.

The restaurant food was amazing, and breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful, but the internet was slow. My room was clean and okay, though it felt dated and wasn’t especially impressive by current standards.

The food was superb, and both the owners and staff were attentive. The hotel itself is very neat. I recommend it.
