The dog had been allowed when we discussed it over the phone, but when I called to book, suddenly it wasn’t allowed anymore. I asked why and was nearly attacked by Mr. Luca, who said, “It’s up to me!” But he’d already told me yes. Was the dog only allowed if it stayed in the room? Were we meant to make a package deal with entry to Terme dei Papi and bring the dog there? Absurd. It would’ve been easier to say no from the start. Good luck!

Staying in the ancient tower in the historic village of San Martino al Cimino is a special experience, whether for one night or more. Luca’s Tower feels magical, with comfort and hospitality at its heart. Not to be missed.

The owner got irritable when we complained in the morning. The room lacked cleanliness and smelled musty, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and there was no phone reception. The fireplace couldn’t be used. The bathroom had recycled towels, and breakfast was just a liter of cold milk. Highly not recommended!

The tower is beautiful, and the place feels really welcoming. It was clean and had everything we needed, plus access to a lovely little garden. Highly recommend it.

We left before even finishing our first night, though we'd booked two. The room was filthy, with cobwebs everywhere, and the spring mattress had a moldy smell. There was no usable Wi-Fi or phone signal, and the TV didn't work. I can see now why this was the only place with vacancies over the Christmas holidays.
