Volastra gave us the quiet Cinque Terre base we wanted when we visited last October, and Il Saraceno turned out to be a real gem. It’s a small, independent hotel, officially three stars, but we felt the service was five-star. The shuttle and trail access are handy, and the village is a peaceful break from the busy main towns. Antonella deserves a special mention. She’s at the heart of the place, full of local advice, and somehow always seemed to know what we needed. The whole team paid attention to details, from breakfast timing to keeping our room immaculate. We left very happy and touched by everyone’s kindness. Antonella and the staff bring a lot of care to this cozy, authentic hotel, and we’d love to return.

Antonella made the place feel like a family home. She was so sweet and welcoming, and even stayed up late to open the gate for us. We felt looked after from the moment we arrived. Our room was cozy and warm, with everything we needed. Breakfast was freshly made for us and featured delicious local products. We had a fantastic stay.

With just seven rooms and a quiet village around it, the hotel was wonderfully peaceful. Our room had a view that was far more stunning than we expected. Breakfast was cooked to order, and the service was way above what I’d expect from a three-star place. The whole stay felt like being welcomed into a family home. Antonella was lovely and made us feel comfortable straight away.

The bus stop is right across the street, making it easy to get to Manarola and other towns. You can buy bus, train, and Love Walk tickets at the hotel and get the resident rate.

Volastra is a lovely, quiet town, just a short bus ride from Manarola, and the views are beautiful. Staying at Hotel Il Saraceno for a few days while visiting Cinque Terre was easily the best choice I could have made. There was care behind everything. My room was clean and had air conditioning, and the owner was one of the sweetest people I’ve met. She shared lots of useful information and was incredibly accommodating. She even got up very early to open the gate so I could catch my train. I can’t recommend this hidden gem enough.
