Cassandra and her family made our 30th anniversary feel special. I’ve rarely experienced a better host, and Galliano, my fellow Capricorn, felt like a brother. I’m looking forward to coming back to visit him and cook that pheasant together. We felt like we were in heaven on earth. The location worked well for exploring: Pisa, Florence, Siena, and the coastal city Cicena are each about an hour away, while San Gimignano is only 19 km away. Volterra is just 6 km from the B&B, and the Tuscan scenery along the way is beautiful. Put on some Tuscan music by Andre Rieu while driving. I’ve recommended the place to friends and family.

The pool gets cleaned every day, and now and then there are activities nearby, though nothing loud or disruptive. It’s a peaceful place as long as work isn’t happening in the surrounding fields. The countryside view is incredible, especially in the morning, and both Volterra and the closest supermarket are about a 20-minute drive through pretty scenery. Our room felt typically Tuscan, with plenty of space and a good clean. The kitchen worked well, and there’s air conditioning if you need it. The owners were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good by Italian standards and quite reasonably priced.
