We came for a week-long family reunion and had such a good time that we’re already talking about returning. The three accommodation buildings sit on a hill with sweeping views in every direction across the Tuscan countryside, and they’re about 4 miles from the medieval town of Volterra. The rooms were bright, spacious, quiet, and clean. Meals were a highlight. Breakfast had fresh fruit, local cheeses and prosciutto, eggs, and really good coffee. You could sign up for lunch on days you stayed in instead of exploring or joining one of the Villa’s trips, and dinner was a terrific four to six courses. There’s also a nice pool. A small group has spent 30 years restoring the estate, and they’re lovely, as are the employees and volunteers. Most guests were German and were happy to practice their English with us Americans. We’d love to come back.

Dinner has a lovely way of turning into a get-together here. The owners and staff are passionate, the food is great, and the villa feels homely and peaceful. It’s been lovingly and honestly restored, with a real taste of Tuscan life, a pool, and gorgeous views. The location works well for visiting the main sights: Volterra is 15 minutes away and San Gimignano 35. It’s stunning, and you really don’t need more for a quiet break.

We’ve stayed here three times, including once for our honeymoon, and can’t wait to return. The frescoed rooms are lovely, the pool is great, and there are outdoor spots for meals. We enjoy eating together outside and often end up chatting with other guests. It’s close to Volterra but still quiet and romantic. You can join in with things or do your own thing, and there’s plenty to do, with lots of information available at the villa. The whole place feels relaxed, informal, and friendly.

We had a great time here with our large group. The grounds are beautiful and well looked after, and it’s a lovely setting for Italian-style communal meals and celebrations. The staff were friendly, and the food and wine service was great.
