Monaci delle Terre Nere is a luxury eco-bio Relais located on the slopes of Mount Etna, surrounded by a 62-acre organic estate with terraced vineyards and views over the Mediterranean Sea. Since 2019, the property has been a member of Relais & Châteaux. The estate features 25 rooms, suites and pool villas where traditional Sicilian architecture blends with contemporary design. Original elements such as oak-beamed ceilings, stone walls, ancient wine presses and frescoes coexist with modern Italian furnishings by brands including Flos, Lago, Gervasoni and B&B Italia, alongside artworks by British-Brazilian artist Olivier Mourao and the owners’ private collection of antiques and reclaimed pieces. Among the latest developments are an innovative vertical wine cellar created inside the historic cistern of the Baronial House, seven heated private pools powered by an expanded solar energy system, and exclusive private villas combining complete privacy with the services of a luxury hotel, including private chef, butler service and helicopter tours over Mount Etna departing directly from the estate. In 2024, Monaci delle Terre Nere received its first Michelin Key and joined the Virtuoso collection.
