BV Kalafiorita Resort

We visited in Sept 23. The evening entertainment was poor: there was only one night of stage entertainment while we were there. The entertainment team said the hotel was winding down, but they shouldn’t be winding down while guests are still staying there. The pool area was grubby and needed a good clean. The room had a serious drainage problem. Human waste came up through the shower and bidet, wasn’t cleaned for more than four hours, and left a terrible smell. My wife was quite ill for the next 24 hours. The restaurant manager’s attitude was the worst part of the resort. We’ve never had a hotel manager this miserable and grumpy. His treatment of British guests was shocking. We were treated as second-class compared with Italian and German guests. Our party of four was put at a small patio table, while the four German guests next to us had a table twice the size. When we asked for a table the same size, he kept asking what was wrong. After I explained, he started throwing tables and chairs around as he put two tables together for us. It was embarrassing. He also gave more food to Italian and German guests, even though they were half board and we had paid for full board. The pavements are dangerous. A woman fell and broke her wrist, and the resort didn’t seem to care. They didn’t even offer to carry her plates at meals, although she had a full arm cast. Breakfast was poor, and we ended up with half-cooked toast every day. Lunch and dinner were nice, though more variety would have been good. Meal times felt rushed: breakfast was limited to two hours, lunch to one hour and 15 minutes, and dinner to one hour and 15 minutes. If you stayed longer, the restaurant manager, Mr Happy, told you to finish and leave. Dinner was later changed to an hour and a half when a large German group arrived, but that didn’t help much because we had to queue longer to be served, since guests couldn’t serve themselves. We won’t return, and I hope management deals with the restaurant manager’s poor attitude.
