Worst experience I've had in southern Italy. They served allo scoglio, but it was fileja with flavorless Passata. It wasn't allo scoglio at all: no vongole, no cozze, no flavor, no gamberi. I've eaten better at every pasticceria. What a misunderstanding.

The setting is a lovely snapshot of southern Italy, with genuinely welcoming people and tasty, authentic food at fair prices. We first came across it years ago and have returned a couple of times since. We tried several dishes, including pasta and grilled swordfish, and enjoyed them. The pizza, made right in front of you by sig. Salvatore, is among the best we’ve had in the region: nicely seasoned with fresh herbs, a delicate touch of olive oil, and just-right dough. It’s an easy stop near the Tropea - Lamezia road and Zambrone train station, and only a short walk from one of Calabria’s nicest beaches, which still seems little known to tourists. The free WiFi was appreciated too. For us, it’s well worth a detour and much better than most of the other restaurants nearby.

Really good pizza and a very pleasant visit. The staff were friendly without hovering, and Zambrone train station is an easy walk away.
