VOI Le Muse Essentia

The beach was clean, and the water stayed so warm during July 15 - 22 that we never had to get out because it was cold. The shore is a mix of sand and stones, which isn't my favorite. There were always plenty of well-maintained sunbeds, and compared with other hotels along the beach, there was a good amount of space per person. I felt valued throughout our stay, and my family did too. The staff were energetic, helpful, and pleasant, and the hotel seemed extremely well run. The smiles didn't feel fake, though a few staff members were strictly business. The other guests were nice as well. I noticed lots of elegantly dressed Italians, plus a few Czechs and a couple of Spaniards. It's my first resort of this kind in Italy, so some Italians may see it differently. The kids' entertainment was better than I expected. My boys, aged 7 and 11, spent one morning with the childcare staff and enjoyed it, though they prefer hanging out with us, so they only went once. The young women in charge were charming and capable. There was also a magician, an illusionist, who was amazing. My jaw dropped. Well maintained, in a great location, with lovely food and wonderful staff.

The food, rooms, beach, and pool are all fantastic. The staff are very helpful, and even though not everyone speaks English, which is fair enough, we had no trouble communicating. The hotel mostly caters to Italian tourists, which I take as a sign that you've picked well. It's a jewel on the Calabrian coast.

There's a lot included in the activities, the garden is amazing, and the staff provide really nice, caring service. The resort is quite nice, with good value for the price. Most things are fairly new and well maintained. Food is plentiful, though that’s an area that could be improved.

The sea is wonderful and the place is beautiful, but that's about it. If you're not Italian, no one helps you, and it feels like you're charged extra for everything. People keep looking at your plate. The female animators are good, but the program is only for Italian children. If you want to come, go ahead, but it doesn't feel like anyone here is expecting you. The breakfast is monotonous for the price, though that's your problem, too. Lifeguards are almost always away from their posts. The beach is all stones, despite what you might read about sand and stones. You can't get into the water without special shoes, and getting out is impossible.
