The countryside setting is lovely, with a stunning view over the vineyards and plenty of quiet. That’s the best part. The place could deserve ten stars, but it’s poorly managed and maintained, which makes it a huge waste of money for people who stay often or for longer periods. It might be fine for a night or two. The furniture is old and in poor condition, including the refrigerator and electric stove. Cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired. I found myself having to check in more often than not.

Set in the fertile Modena countryside, this functional residence is part of a complex with a contemporary art museum. The service is adequate.

Ghironda Resort feels like a second home to us. My husband has stayed there for work for three years, and I visit him some weekends. It’s peaceful and surrounded by greenery, with roomy studio apartments that are well furnished. Cleaning and linen changes are included. There’s shared laundry, a coffee break area, and bicycles available. It’s about 20 minutes from central Bologna, with very good access to the highway. An excellent choice.

The park is beautifully kept, and some of its sculptures are really remarkable. The museum is lovely too. Young children can enjoy it as well, getting to experience the art firsthand. Highly recommended.

I know the venues, the area, and the events held there well. The restaurant doesn’t offer much variety, but everything is first-rate. Check their site for the many events that are well worth attending, especially the classical music ones. The garden is unusual and deserves a visit, since it’s an open-air museum.
