Altamont Court Hotel

I had such a bad first visit that I cancelled my next booking at the same hotel and came straight back home. I really don’t want to visit again. One receptionist was pleasant and accommodating, but the trouble started when I was told I couldn’t check in until 1:30. I went out to get a few things and returned to find the room supposedly ready. The air conditioning, safe, phone, and hot water weren’t working. The TV was grainy and kept breaking up. They fixed the air conditioning, but said they couldn’t do anything about the safe or phone. I’d paid for breakfast for two days, then realized my flights were very early. I asked a woman in the restaurant for two packets of instant coffee and creamer since I’d miss both breakfasts. She said I had to buy them, even though they were free at breakfast, and then said there was nothing she could do. I told reception, and they called her and asked her to give me coffee. She was told to give me two packs, but I found only one in my room. Later, I went to the restaurant for food. The look she gave me made me decide not to order there, so I ordered food elsewhere. She saw me collect it while she was bringing food to the receptionist, and rolled her eyes again. If management sees this, the reception girls and the bar lady deserve a pay increase. The person running the kitchen shouldn’t be dealing with customers. That’s how bad the experience was.
