Yard Style

The host, a gentleman, was pleasant and courteous. The property felt homey and safe, with a locked gate and a key for it. I stayed just one night in a clean, comfortable room with a king bed. It had a fridge and microwave, and I appreciated having a towel and toiletries in the bathroom. At $50 per night, the downsides felt minor, and I’d stay here longer. The microwave would run for a few seconds and then shut off. In my opinion, the shower head cut the water pressure too much. There was one face mirror in the bathroom, positioned so we couldn’t get a good look at ourselves once dressed, and no mirror in the bedroom.

We had a pleasant stay here earlier this year, and it was affordable too. The yard is big and beautiful, with lots of fruit trees and plenty of parking, and the place feels very private. Our room door wasn’t working right, but they moved us to another room quickly. I’d definitely recommend it and go back.

We never got to sleep at Yard Style, even though we’d booked an available room and had our booking confirmed. Nobody answered the gate bell or any of the many calls we made. We had no wifi and had to drive around town looking for a wifi spot, which was hectic. It was already 7:30 p.m. We were lucky to find another place at the last minute, but otherwise we’d have been in a difficult situation.

Staying at yard style is always amazing. Mike and his lovely wife are so humble, and you feel completely safe on the property, which matters when you want to feel safe in Jamaica. They go the extra mile to check that you’re okay. I love mangoes, and Mike brings me some from his tree every morning. Thanks so much for another wonderful stay.
