Altamont West Hotel

The location was great, close to the beach and restaurants, and the scenery was beautiful. Check-in went smoothly, and it was mostly peaceful and quiet. It was pretty much what I paid for, nothing fancy. There was one noisy spell while I was sleeping, with what I think was a group of guys hanging out nearby. My main disappointment was breakfast. I asked at the front desk where the cafeteria was and was told breakfast wasn't served at the property, but at another location a few minutes' walk away. I'm not sure if that was just for that day or always, but it put me off. I didn't ask again and just went elsewhere for breakfast for the rest of my stay.

The room was spacious, the bathroom nicely updated, and the AC worked perfectly. I came back to Jamaica for a funeral and only needed somewhere clean to rest at night, but this hotel was absolutely perfect. The housekeepers worked really hard to keep everything clean, and every staff member we met was super friendly. Breakfast here was always 👌, and when we ordered dinner from the restaurant a few times, the portions were huge. Great value if you just want to stay in. The area was nice too, and we walked in both directions. I can't wait to come back.

Our flight got cancelled, so we needed a place near Montego Bay airport for the night. Check-in was easy, though we waited a few extra minutes for housekeeping. The AC was cold and the shower hot, and we had no issues with the hotel. There's a bar and a small clean pool. We walked to a nearby restaurant, and the next morning they helped us get a ride back to the airport.

The veranda has stunning views, and the rooms had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were always smiling and friendly, and the interior and atmosphere felt cozy and relaxing. Employees kept the place clean and in good shape. Breakfast was part of the price, filling, and had choices. The location is excellent, with parks, beaches, shops, casinos, cafes, bars, and more within walking distance. Music from nearby bars can get really loud at night sometimes.
