Basileia Palace

Mrs. Drummond and her husband were so accommodating when I held my wedding at this villa in October 2023. We booked all 11 rooms for our guests, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The food was five-star, and the venue looked beautiful for the wedding. I can't put into words what a great time we had. Mrs. Drummond went above and beyond to make sure the day was perfect. I'd stay here and recommend the villa again and again.

Breakfast each morning was delicious and healthy, and Mrs. Drummond and her staff were amazing. The villa was spacious and well kept, with room for the whole family. It had round-the-clock security in an upscale community, and was 8 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from downtown Montego Bay excursions. The pool was still being built during our visit, so we couldn't use it, but we had the blue Jamaican beach instead. For Christians familiar with Pastor Myles Munroe, he came and named this place Basileia!

I stayed here for a wedding on Oct 21, 23, checking in Friday 10/20 and leaving Sun 10/22. I paid $140 a night, $280 total, and nothing was included. The room was very basic, just a bed and TV, and the shower was cold because there was no hot water heater. The only amenities were pools, and even the smaller one, which should have been a hot tub, had cold water. Breakfast cost $10 a plate. I paid for it once, then went to a Jamaican restaurant around the corner in the shopping plaza. It cost $5, and the food was better. On the wedding day, the couple married outside in the garden, but the electricity went out for about two hours. Everyone had to stand outside sweating until it was fixed. It was embarrassing. It seemed they hadn't prepared for that many guests, and the place couldn't handle everyone using the room fans and AC units. There's nothing classy or grand about this place despite the name Palace. When we paid our balance, they didn't offer any discount for the inconvenience. I know other Jamaican spots where we could have gotten a better rate and price. I only stayed because the couple chose it for the venue; otherwise I wouldn't have. People in Jamaica told me they'd stayed elsewhere for $50 a night, in nicer places with hot showers and amenities. I felt ripped off, and the place wasn't worth it. Never again.

Mrs. Drummonds and her team handled everything, and the decor was lovely. I got married here on the 21 August and was certainly pleased with how it all turned out. Communication was superb from beginning to end, and she made the day special. We were running late, entirely my fault, but everything still went well. I'd definitely recommend Basileia's Palace for an event.
