Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach, A Trademark All-Inclusive Resort

The view was amazing, the entertainment was great, and the staff were super cool and friendly. The food and drinks were decent too. For the price, this resort was great, and it can give you an authentic Jamaican experience. Keep your expectations in line if you're used to four- or five-star resorts, and you probably won't be disappointed.

Staying at Grand Decameron felt like being at home, and I was so comfortable and happy there. Erin/Zoey became my favorite person at the entire resort. She's a sweet soul with a lovely personality that makes guests feel welcome, and I truly appreciate her. The resort is beautiful, with luxurious amenities, exceptional service, and an unforgettable experience. I'd definitely return because of Erin/Zoey. Big up Zoey!

The rooms were spacious and clean, with properly flushing toilets and plenty of hot water and pressure. They could use updating, and the sliding doors need lubrication, but they were decent overall. This is an older resort and isn't five-star luxury, yet for the price you can't go wrong. If you're on a budget or want to relax without too much craziness, this is a good fit. I'll be back. It's smaller than some resorts, which was a big selling point for us. There's just one pool, and every room faces the ocean. It never felt crowded or too noisy. You can also use the facilities at the resort next door. The location is great, right on the Hip Strip, with downtown Mobay about a 20-minute walk away or a few dollars by taxi. Most days the food was decent and had lots of variety, but there weren't enough Jamaican dishes. The beach jerk parties were the best. Entertainment was poor, and the staff seemed more focused on entertaining themselves. The DJ played for himself rather than the crowd. There were creepy guys trying to sell hard drugs, not marijuana. I was told they don't work for the resort. They sneak in and hide in holes inside the break walls. They don't harass you, but they obviously don't fit in and mostly stay in the water. The staff were excellent, for the most part, and they're the main reason I'd return. Sage was always sweeping and mopping, and you could tell he was working because the floors were spotless. I hung out at the pool bar, where Savian and Chrissy kept things fun and were always friendly and happy to talk. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. Brando was very knowledgeable and helpful, but a bit too robotic and could loosen up. Buffet service wasn't always great, though Renae and Jordan were memorable, attentive, and went above and beyond. There were a few cats on the property, which most people, myself included, loved. Thanks to them, I didn't see any mice or critters, and they were friendly, so it was a win-win. Nick, the taxi driver, was the best. His prices were very reasonable, and he was a great guide, not just a driver. He knew the island's history, and I'd recommend him for getting around.

I was booked for Christmas Day 2025, but never got to enjoy my stay or receive my refund, and it's now been three months. The hotel cancelled because of the hurricane, which I understand, but gave me less than a week's notice and didn't try to rebook me. I ended up making a last-minute booking at RIU Montego Bay, which of course cost much more the week before Christmas. Instead of refunding the original payment method automatically, even though I hadn't initiated the cancellation, they asked me for documentation, including my full credit card statement. A screenshot of the single transaction wasn't enough. Since then, they've said the check was delivered, but when I confirm nothing arrived, all they tell me is to keep waiting. The Corporate Wyndham line didn't help either. A supervisor said they couldn't do anything and I had to keep waiting for the check that still hasn't shown up. I also asked for compensation for the bad experience and the refund delay of more than three months, such as a free hotel stay stateside, but they said they couldn't even offer that. Absolutely unbelievable. Please believe the other 1/5 reviews saying this hotel is a scam. They cancelled with barely any notice, still haven't refunded me after three months, and corporate has taken no accountability. I'll never book at a Wyndham location again.
