Hotel Montego

The pool is lovely, and the food is great too. Big up to the chef. I also liked watching the planes land from the hotel, so it's a nice little place to stay a couple of nights if you're in the area.

The staff were welcoming and accommodating, and Paul at the concierge was especially friendly and helpful. I liked the food, apart from the Italian restaurant. You don't come to Jamaica for pasta, lol. I enjoyed my stay and would probably visit again. One thing bothered me, though: the complimentary alcohol in my room was empty when I checked in. They topped it up the next day, but it was empty again the day after, even though I had been out for a full day. It made me wonder if housekeeping had been drinking it.

When our flight was cancelled late at night, we ended up staying at this hotel right across from the airport. It was inexpensive, and the room was clean and comfortable. The balcony was large, with an excellent view of both the airport and the sea. The staff were kind and helpful.

The front desk staff gave fantastic customer service and were very willing to help. That was the good part. The room was horrible. There were nasty black ants in trails, mosquitoes, lizards, and trains. We were up the whole time fighting them and couldn't get a decent night's rest. The stay was so unpleasant that we'd rather have slept on the beach outside. Definitely not a place for children. Being across the street from the airport was convenient, but this was still a bad hotel. If you're from the States, it felt like a $2-for-$10 place in the worst part of town. Thank God it was a short stay and we're heading to a resort now. We're so happy to go, though the service really was great.
