Charela Inn Hotel

The Jr suite was lovely and immaculate, and housekeeping was top notch. Reception hostesses and housekeeping staff were all welcoming and extremely helpful. Charela Inn has old world charm with some modern features, and I probably would stay again, but I’d eat elsewhere. The restaurant staff were rude and careless with orders. They made me feel like I was bothering them just by being there, so I took my hard earned money to nearby businesses for the rest of my stay. The resort next door was much better about dining service. Charela Inn misses the mark there. I’m an OVER tipper when service is good, as the housekeeping staff and surrounding restaurants can attest. That was their loss.

The beach is lovely, with blue water, white sand, and what felt like the best spot right in the middle. The restaurant was lovely too, with amazing food, friendly staff, and dishes we’d never tried before. We enjoyed the cocktail afternoon, and the hotel manager took time to say hello to guests. The pool area looked nice and quiet, though we didn’t use it. This was my first trip to jamaica, and I’m so glad I chose this hotel after one closure and another place was damaged in the hurricane. We’re due to leave tomorrow, and I’ll 100% recommend it. We got a warm welcome and a surprise upgrade to an ocean view room. The view was lovely, the bed and pillows were comfy, and there was water in the fridge when we arrived. I also appreciated having a bottle opener. The aircon and Wi-Fi were perfect, and the Wi-Fi even worked on the beach.

The beach is incredible, lined with palm trees and never as crowded as the beaches at other hotels. We walked up and down the whole stretch many times. The rooms are clean and well equipped, and the elegant atmosphere makes this hands down the nicest hotel on the beach. The restaurant is excellent. It costs a little more than some others, but tip is included while other places add 12%. Portions are generous, and service is impeccable, quick, and delicious. By far the best hotel.

A mature place with a classic beach view and a small pool for cooling off. They have live jazz, blues, and classic soul a couple of nights a week, and serve croissants as breakfast bread a few days a week plus fresh baguettes daily. The restaurant has incredible French cuisine at great prices, and I highly recommend the handmade pizza at lunch. The rooms are perfect and the property is well maintained. Incredible place, and there’s a reason it was a grand prize on Wheel.
