The sunset from The Point is like no other, and I love its private, secluded beaches. One beach is nude and directly adjoins hedonism. It’s quite a hidden gem, especially if you’re heading to the neighboring resorts and need a short stay. We rented Sandra’s unit #85 on Air BNB for $150 a night, and as a tourist from Canada I’m not complaining. Some units are renovated, while plenty aren’t. Ours wasn’t, so shop around. If you have a personal rental contact, you can find nicer renovated units for $75-$100 a night. Air BNB starts at $150 a night. The buildings can be hard to find. The entrance is off the main road where Hedonism and Royalton have their signs, but you’d never guess The Point is farther back on their shared driveway/ roadway way. I’d definitely return.

This is a quiet, private community with over 200 rooms, ranging from bachelor suites to three-bedroom units, each with a full kitchen. There’s no bar or restaurant. Some units are spectacular, while others are just sad, so you really need to see the room in person.

The private beach is amazing, and the location feels very secure. Rooms can differ wildly, so stay in contact with your host. I’ve read that some people didn’t get the room they booked. An upgrade would be great, of course, but just something to keep in mind. We communicated 6-7 times over the 30 days before arrival to avoid any hiccups. Kayaks were included in our rental, though we had to ask about them. I’m glad we did, since we paddled out to boobycay Island to snorkel. Perfect vacation with our adult children.

The units seem to vary, but the beach is absolutely glorious.

We love staying here. It’s private, peaceful, and beautiful. Just remember this is a group of individually owned condos, not an all-inclusive resort, so your room depends on the owner. We’ve stayed in a few and had wildly different experiences. Be careful with some AirBnB and VRBO listings. There can be fraud. We saw at least one couple arrive to find the unit they’d rented didn’t exist. A local resident connected them with an owner who found them a rental, but the whole thing was chaotic. Angela and Wayne are wonderful, and their rooms are great. Water pressure can be a problem across the property and the whole area. The buildings are older, so some kind of maintenance is always going on, whichever room you’re in. The grounds feel safe and private, with a guard station at the only entrance around the clock. Many condos are rented to police, so there’s usually a police presence. There are two private beaches. The one at the south end is “adult,” with clothing optional. At the north end, there are rock pools, steps down to a swimming area, and a cave. The gardens and trees are well kept. There’s also a pickleball court and an “exercise” area, though amenities depend on what the HOA approves for funding. Many units are owner-occupied or rented long-term, for months at a time. That gives the place a friendly community feel, though there can be drama, like in any community. There’s currently no food on site, but Sharon, the produce lady, comes 3x a week with fresh fruit, vegetables, and sometimes baked goods. Prices are reasonable for the service. She takes Jamaican currency or USD, but her exchange rate is generally low, so it’s better to pay in J. You can call one of the many local drivers for a private ride downtown. For a cheaper option, walk to the road and take a route taxi with red plates. It costs about $3-500J per person ($2-4 USD) each way. It’s always felt safe to me, but be extra careful after dark. The property sits between two “clothing optional” all-inclusive resorts, so be prepared to see some public nudity. If you walk along the beach toward the 7-mile section, going through the Hedonism beach area can be as eventful as you’d imagine.
