Firefly Beach Cottages and Suites

The seaside setting is the one thing I liked about the bar. The welcome felt cold, nobody seemed to pay attention to customers, and the woman at the counter was rude and confrontational, which made the atmosphere unpleasant. Service was slow and unprofessional, and the place didn’t seem well cared for. For what you get, the prices are high. I left disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it or return.

The sunrise over the Caribbean was gorgeous, with gold and pink in the sky, and the sunsets were just as lovely, orange and purple as the sun went down. Firefly Beach Cottages & Suites feels like a little sanctuary in Negril. The owners have made it a place to relax, reconnect with nature, and feel at home, with a really positive island vibe. I loved walking through the lush gardens on the way to the beach, past tropical flowers and rustling palms. The Black-owned property is a gem, with friendly, attentive staff and delicious, comforting Jamaican food. If you haven’t stayed here yet, consider this a little nudge to give it a try. I can’t recommend it enough for a Jamaican getaway.

The restaurant made it easy to grab a quick bite, and the setting is beautiful, right on the beach. We had a perfect stay.

The location was good, and the staff were friendly. Service felt sincere, too. But my room was run down, and noisy roosters and traffic woke me at 5am. There was a very big fridge, but it was unplugged, along with a gas stove. The bathroom basin had exposed wiring and no hot water. The shower was very old and needs attention, although its hot water worked.
