The Caves

The location is spectacular and so unusual, the food is outstanding, but the staff made the biggest difference. Earl, Glenn, Omar, Floyd, Randy, and especially Stacy-Ann took such good care of us. Their warm welcome and top-notch service made us feel at home, and we won’t forget it. My friends had wanted Sandals, and I’d promised I could find somewhere better, so I was nervous about how the choice would turn out. We’ve all traveled a lot, but everyone said The Caves was their favorite place they’d stayed. I’ll keep recommending it as a unique, authentic way to experience Jamaica. I can’t wait to come back. If you can book it, do yourself a favor.

The cliffside setting was a highlight for me, especially jumping off the cliffs, and the privacy gives the place an intimate feel. We spent four days at the Caves and really enjoyed the personal service, great food, and incredibly warm, thoughtful staff. It’s peaceful, and plenty of guests seem to return year after year. It may not suit everyone. If you want a big resort with a beach, this isn’t the place. But for a quiet getaway in a private setting, with good food and service, the Caves is a great choice.

The food was delicious at every meal, and the property has lovely private nooks and hidden places to explore. It feels intimate and special. The caves were a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, and I’d love to come back as soon as I can. Our planned private dinner in a cave was affected by a cold front and rough seas. The staff worked hard to arrange it somewhere else on the property, and it was just as special. Everyone we met was welcoming and genuinely cared about our stay. Trevor, our driver, was kind and full of information. Stacey went above and beyond throughout our visit, and Fabian was wonderful and attentive too. Even Tibby the cat is part of the charm. The atmosphere, people, service, and experience were all wonderful. For a unique, romantic stay in Jamaica, this place is hard to beat.

The rooms feel authentic, and the staff taught us a lot about Jamaica. The caves are unbelievable, the water is crystal blue, and it’s so peaceful. We shared the hotel with maybe three couples, so it was very quiet, and the food was delicious. Within minutes of arriving last July, we felt at home. It’s not the usual high-end all-inclusive with all the bells and whistles, but it was an experience unlike any other. I can’t wait to return.
