I booked a weekend stay after seeing the reviews and reserved a suite with a kitchenette because I was traveling with my baby. I had gone to Jamaica for my dad’s funeral and planned to stay here afterward. When we arrived, the hotel had sold our room and put us in one without a kitchenette, so I had to book another hotel to get the accommodation I needed. Sago palm’s assistant manager was very difficult to deal with. When I tried to get a refund, she said she'd call me back, but I never got the refund or the call. The WhatsApp number also goes unanswered. Months have passed and I still can't reach anyone about my money. They’re scammers! If you don't live there, choose somewhere else.

In the middle of busy Ocho Rios, this lovely little boutique hotel was a pleasant surprise. I hadn't even known it was tucked away there. The place was immaculately clean, and the staff were helpful and very friendly. The food was delicious too. I stayed for a work weekend and found it clean, comfortable, and pleasant. I'd definitely recommend it and come back.

Sago palm is on Main street Ocho Rios and has a swimming pool, though parking is limited. The rooms are modern and cozy, and the food is good. Breakfast comes with the package, while lunch and dinner cost extra. The staff are warm and welcoming.

I liked staying in the middle of the city, close enough to walk to markets, local vendors, and the beach. It was nice to experience the real Jamaican culture instead of going to a fancy resort and missing that. The workers were friendly, happy to answer questions about good places to go or how they cook the food, and made me feel very welcome. I had a great experience and could feel the spirit there.

The hotel's best quality is the people. Security, reception, housekeeping, and the two older gentlemen in the restaurant were all pleasant, kind, and helpful. The manager also made sure we had a great room for our anniversary vacation, which I really appreciated. It's a small place with lots of charm and hospitality, and it's clean and comfortable. Breakfast each day was delicious. This was our second stay at Sago Palm, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
