The Blue House Boutique Bed & Breakfast

We had a great time exploring Ocho Rios from The Blue House. Elise and Darryl were so welcoming, served us really good food, and gave us spot-on tips. They also arranged for Patrick to drive us around, and he was kind, knowledgeable, and made getting about easy. Their suggestions led us to rafting, Sun Valley Plantation, Dunn’s River Falls, Konoko Falls, and Bay Beach. After outings, the pool was a lovely place to read and unwind, and the staff were excellent. A wonderful oasis, highly recommend the Blue House.

We were there with our two young kids when Hurricane Melissa hit, and the Darryl, Elise, mom and staff made sure our family of four felt safe and looked after. They kept us updated, helped us stay calm, made comforting meals, and shared stories. What might have been stressful turned into a memorable stay that felt like being with family. The Blue House Boutique Bed and Breakfast was a real home away from home. The property was peaceful, tropical, nicely decorated, and spotless. The rooms were charming, and the food was a daily highlight, especially Darryl's homemade Jamaican dishes. Even with the storm going on outside, we never felt uneasy. The warmth and hospitality reminded us of what makes Jamaica special. We can't wait to come back when the skies are sunnier. The Blue House was pure sunshine through the hurricane, and we simply can not wait to return!

The food was a real highlight during our seven days at The Blue House. Breakfasts had tropical fruit, ackee and saltfish, and Blue Mountain coffee, while dinners included jerk chicken, seafood curries, and plantains, often served poolside with fresh local ingredients. The staff were so friendly and attentive, always going the extra mile with things like sunset cocktails and local tips. They made us feel like family. My wife and I loved our suite's bright blues, comfortable furniture, and garden views. The private pool was perfect for a morning dip or a romantic evening swim. From the first welcome to leaving, this charming boutique retreat felt peaceful and made for us. A serene Jamaican escape for couples, we'd return. 10/10!

The meals with the other guests were intimate and tasty, and Elise and Daryll were friendly, knowledgeable hosts. Up on a hill, The Blue House in Ocho Rios has lovely sea, bay, and hillside views, plus comfortable rooms, an inviting pool, and beautiful gardens. Highly recommend this gem.
