Inn The Town

We spent time walking around town and by the water, picking up snacks and jerk chicken. The key fob for opening and closing the front gate came in handy. Nevil and the team deserve a lot of credit. You can tell this place is a labor of love, and having a reasonably affordable, modern, quality space out in port antonio is no small feat. I'd recommend it. We stayed two nights in April. My room, number 8, was clean and practical, with a fridge and a stunning view of the water across the street. The AC worked perfectly, the ceiling fan was strong, and the bathroom and shower were fine. My parents had a much larger first-floor suite with a full kitchen. They ran into a couple of minor room issues, which Nevil, the proprietor, fixed easily. Everyone at the inn was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. I saw comments about noise, but I didn't find it to be a problem. There was plenty of street activity on Friday night, and I heard a motorcycle pop late in the evening. The inn is right on the main road, in the middle of everything, so it's not the place for a secluded hideaway.

We had a party of eight at The Inn Town, and it was one of my best stays in Portland. The rooms were spacious and clean, with everything working, and the ocean views were unobstructed. We watched the sunrise from there. The onsite team were courteous and quick to respond. We'll book again, for a longer stay next time.

Everything we needed was within walking distance, and there's plenty to do nearby if you're an outdoors person. I stayed here to visit my mother's hometown, and the owners were amazingly prompt when contacted. I'd give the location 10/10. My only reason for rating the rooms 4/5 is that I wanted a kitchen. That's only in the three-bedroom option, which I'll book next time.

My friend and I had one of the better rooms, but there's no service here. We had to request cleaning or do it ourselves, and ants started showing up. I would've been better off at an Airbnb. They charged the full hotel payment to my credit card before we even left for the trip, and now nobody answers. There's no staff around and no reception area. The reservation said breakfast was included, but that was a lie. We've been here two days, and this has been the worst. No one to answer to us.
