Art Hotel Downtown

I can't recommend this place. The reception was very poor, and the employees weren't qualified. They were especially bad at communicating.

The location was really good, but this is a very basic hotel. Our first room hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests, so they moved us. The shower needs a curtain because water gets everywhere. Breakfast was a mess. It seemed one guy was trying to cook, clear and wash dishes, clean tables, and look after the toilets all at once. He was doing his best, but they need more staff to help, and nothing was being cleaned properly.

The central location is good, within walking distance of sights and restaurants. That's about the only upside for me. We toured Jordan and stayed in some two-star hotels that were much better, so this is a clear no from me. The hotel seems badly managed and needs improvement. Maybe they rely too much on being listed in the Lonely Planet and used as a base by tour groups. Rooms were shabby and dirty, with hair, dirty towels, faulty wiring, and more. The manager finally arrived the next day, but when we started explaining the problems, he was rude and condescending. He clearly didn't know how to manage a hotel. I was very disappointed by how the place is run, and won't return. The rooms are tiny and dirty, and the staff need guidance on treating guests. From check-in onward, this was the worst hotel experience I've had. I've stayed in hostels with better service and cleaner rooms. There was no toilet paper, and the towels seemed unwashed, with bodily marks and a strong bad smell. The shower wouldn't drain and flooded most of the bathroom, with water never fully clearing during our stay. When we asked reception for help, the staff member didn't know what to do and told us to wait until the manager came the next morning, even for toilet paper. Most rooms face the road, and traffic noise kept going until 3 am.
