The location was exactly what I wanted. Cafes, shops, and restaurants surround the hotel, and you can walk to the Roman theatre and citadel. The people there were really helpful. I chose a shared bathroom and was happy enough with what I got, since my expectations were low. For the price, it was clean. You can find somewhere cleaner or roomier, but the location and cost match what this place promises. I didn’t use the shower, and the shared bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. That was what I expected, though, and it wasn’t a major issue for me because there was an alaturca toilet option. It’s very affordable and perfectly located, so you won’t be disappointed if you go in knowing that. Expect five-star hostel quality and you will be disappointed. I found the people honest, lovely, and helpful, and I really enjoyed my stay.

For one of the lowest prices in Amman, Farah Hotel was an average but acceptable stay. The rooms are basic and could be better maintained. Two outlets in my room didn’t work.

The room was depressing and smelled of smoke, even though everything in it worked. It reminded me of a hospital in Malawi or a Thai prison. Construction noise and the smell of burning rubbish came in through the open windows across all the vestibule levels. One day the shower was hot, the next it was cold water only. Far too stressful.

A good fit for budget travelers: low price, clean, with AC, a heater, and decent Wi-Fi. The location is perfect. Fantastic hotel.

Right in Amman’s old town, Farah Hotel is a very good hotel/hostel. It has air-conditioning, a kitchen, and a common area, and it isn’t loud. The staff are friendly. I recommend booking here when you’re in Amman.
