Le Vendôme Hotel

I was there for two nights at the start of July 2025. It was pretty good, with a calm, relaxing atmosphere. I’d like management to think about adding some entertainment for guests.

We were given a twin room even though we booked one with a single bed. The room and bedding were dirty, with hair on the sheets, and the towels were used. After we asked the manager to have it cleaned, we came back a few hours later to a smell of cleaning products, but the replacement towels also seemed to have been used. The manager offered another cleaned room with a view. That one had dirty furniture, a stained armchair, and torn sheets. A horrible four-star hotel and an extremely bad experience. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We were lucky it was only one day. The bathroom was nasty, the towel smelled, the phone didn’t work, and the TV was out too. When we reported the phone problem, staff just shrugged and claimed it worked. The AC was basically a fan on its best day. Breakfast arrived 40 minutes late, and the bread was stale. A horrible stay, to put it mildly. If there were a no-star rating, that would fit.

Breakfast was just bread and butter, with dirty glasses and cutlery. The dinner menu was very limited, and the food was badly cooked, suitable only for vegetarians. The person called the manager was also the receptionist, and seemed ready with a lie or excuse for every problem. The room had plenty wrong with it: dirty surfaces, a fridge with an awful smell, very old and noisy AC, and a TV that didn’t work. The light switches were greasy, the bathroom had no towels, glasses, or soap, and the sheets were held together with band-aids. The lock kept beeping with the card inside. I noticed even more issues than these. Just avoid this hotel. I don’t know why it has four stars.
