Classic Hotel

The location was great, and the staff were nice. We paid just 27 JOD for two people for one night, which was a very low price. The sheets were clean, but the rest of the hygiene was poor. The bathroom seemed to have been rinsed rather than cleaned with detergent, the floors hadn’t been vacuumed or mopped properly, and there was dust everywhere. We had tea at breakfast and it was good. We skipped the other food because it didn’t look safe, with some of it left at room temperature. The hotel needs serious renovation. The rooms are old and badly maintained, with marks on the walls and blackened toilets and bathtubs. In one room, the toilet wasn’t fixed to the floor and could be moved. The mattresses were very old too, though we didn’t encounter bed bugs. The electrical sockets were put together in a way that felt dangerous, and there was such a strong smell in the hallways that it was hard to breathe on the stairs. There’s potential here, but a lot of work is needed.

The location is great, and the staff are nice, but they couldn’t speak English, so they weren’t very helpful to us. The booking photos also don’t reflect the actual quality. Most of the ten booking reviews seem to be from Jordanians, which may explain the good average rating. Our room’s electrical setup was awful and unsafe. One plug worked, but it was missing its plastic cover, and the other plugs didn’t work at all. Someone could easily get an electric shock. The bathroom was quite dirty, while the sheets were clean. Breakfast was average, but okay.

For what I paid, I didn’t expect such a nice, clean hotel in a great location. Definitely recommend it.
